Ellie (now aged 7) has been mesmerised by “Beat Bugs” as of late, a kids show on Netflix based on music by the Beatles. Watching the show with her whirlwinded me all the way back to a family holiday in Rhodes circa 1990 (when I was aged.. 7). Haigy had just bought me my first ever album, the Beatles “Blue Album” and I remember being completely mesmerised by it whilst listening to it in the car, with the windows down, one lazy summer afternoon after a trip to the beach.
I hope Ellie will love listening to the Beatles with her father, just as he loved listening to the Beatles with his father.

The Beatles have been overtaken by Taylor Swift I fear in Ellie’s heart but you could always try Haig’s strategy of playing the Blue Album over and over on interminable drives down Long and Winding Roads. There may be a Revolution but as long as Ellie doesn’t have a Revolver you should be fine … in the end.
