“TUFF rock, you see” Both Haig and brother Garbis were huge history buffs, although from quite different perspectives. Garbis explains the battle where Armenians were able to defend against the Turks while we visit Sardarapat Memorial dedicated to the Battle of Sardarabad located in the village of Araks, in the Armavir Province of Armenia.
While on his first trip to Yerevan Haig visited a fair share of Armenian churches, this one is Saint Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral.

This is the meal we ate together at Haig’s home in Kifisia before leaving.
